As many myths and misinformation about hair loss are spread on the web, PAI Medical Group debunks those concerning hair loss and our diet.
Does our diet influence the health of our hair?
Our diet impacts our physical condition, but also our hair cycle and the mechanisms that regulate it. The circulatory system irrigates the hair follicle, through which, like the rest of the body, it receives nutrients. If the hair does not receive the complete nutrition it needs, it will not function properly.
Can a healthy diet help to strengthen the health of our hair?
We all know what a healthy diet means: a balanced diet with our lifestyle, age, and body needs. According to our age, weight, gender, the amount and quality of physical activity we practice, whether we have a particular medical condition, etc.
Vitamin B, Magnesium and Iron: Very Beneficial Properties for Hair
Vitamin B3 (niacin) and vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) contribute to the metabolism of keratin proteins, essential for the shine, silkiness, and volume of hair. Most of the B group (B1, B2, B3, and B12) are active in your hair. Thanks to this activity, they help strengthen the hair fiber and make it more resistant to damage. Vitamin B2, or riboflavin, helps protect cells against oxidative damage.
Among the minerals, iron and magnesium are necessary for the normal synthesis of proteins.
Foods rich in B vitamins, magnesium, and iron are tuna, salmon, eggs, nuts, peanuts, lentils, chickpeas, bananas, whole grains, spinach, peas, soybeans, almonds, milk, yogurt, dark chocolate, etc.
To avoid: Processed foods that do not provide good nutrients and whose composition is far from the recommended healthy values.
What care does hair need to be healthy?
As mentioned above, a balanced diet is essential for healthy hair. Your hair reflects how healthy you are, which translates into shiny, strong, and voluminous hair.
In addition to a balanced diet, hair needs special care, including avoiding sudden temperature changes, excessive curling or flat irons, hair coloring, and so-called “harsh” products.
Are there any solutions for my hair loss?
A healthy diet plays a fundamental role in our health and the overall appearance of our hair. A balanced diet can maintain proper function or normalize the hair cycle caused by poor nutrition, but it can never work “miracles” such as regrowing hair.
PAI Medical Group listens to your needs and offers treatments for women and men for increased hair loss and tailored solutions, such as the patented MUHG™️ hair transplant technique.
